Why did you develop this kit?

We are a group of like minded medical professionals that became involved with a local prepper group.  We were amazed that the most common question we received from the group was, “what are the most important drugs to have on hand and how do I get them?”  As we discussed the question we struggled to find an answer, since there are lots of medications that are important, especially if you have a health condition e.g. high blood pressure, diabetes, etc. The complexity of trying to anticipate everyone’s needs became daunting.  We agreed that in any life altering scenario, survival is the key; to live another day amidst chaos–with that mantra in mind, we identified pandemic flu, nuclear meltdown, and biological weapons as the three profound events that required an immediate drug solution and one for which almost nobody would be prepared for should they occur.

As doctors we had access to these medications but for our prepper group they were largely cost prohibitive and inaccessible.  It was the major gap in everyone’s preparations.  We pooled our resources and used our connections to produce quantities of these critical medications.  After we met with a quality pharmaceutical manufacturer and purchased our first batch we realized that we needed a package with critical instructions, and the Disaster Kit was born.  As word spread from one prepper to another we could no longer fulfill the needs via email so we developed this site to give everyone the same access we were fortunate to secure.
